LDC 2009 and Text style

I am currently using AutoCAD LDC 2009, and I have a situation where my text unexpectedly grows in size from (for example) 5mm to 500mm, 5000mm or even 50000mm. Needless to say, this is a little annoying, and really screws up my dimensions as well.

I'm unsure what changes, or how to correct this, other than manually go through all of my text sizes and correct them, then go through all of my dimensions and fix those as well - a very time-consuming process to say the least.

Any help would be appreciated.
