Drawing Crash upon point import

when i select import points from the drop down menu i get this error message

 

error opening group record set

item not found in this collection

 

 

i hit ok

 

the import window pops up and when i click on the browse button

 

fatal error unhandled c000000dh exception at 78145849h

 

any suggestions?
