Don't Want Client to Edit Drawing

I am sending my cad file to a client so that they can add in utilities. I want to send them the actual file as opposed to a pdf, however I don't want them to change anything already in the file. Is there a way I can lock parts of the drawing, but allow them to still add their own layers and linework?
