Creating Proposed Grading Contours

I am trying to creat proposed grading contours on a mill and overlay of a taxiway. I have existing contours and have created a surface using the existing contours. I also have a proposed profile along the taxiway centerline alignment. I would like to get some direction as to how I can have the software create the proposed contours/grades along the taxiway alignment. What steps to I have to do to obtain those proposed contours?

Hey Kwmir;

Cross Sections>Road Output>Draw 3D Polylines From Point Codes should enable
you to do this easily. Just assign the necessary PCs to your Template prior
to using the above tool.

If you've already had them assigned, you can go right ahead with this
function. If you need to add them you will then assign the Template once
more in Edit Design Control and then Process the Design once again. I've had
instances in the past where the Point Codes didn't show up for use until I
went through assigning the Template again.

I'm thinking that the Template may not be Dynamic in it's attachment through
Edit Design Control, but I have no proof other than experience.

HTH

Okay now the template is getting attached to the proposed surface but its still not giving me the existing and proposed elevations in the section plot. Also its not plotting the template to all the sections. Its skips some sections. The error messages I get upon Processing the sections are Right slope pinned to edge, Template larger than cross-section, Left slope pinned to edge and No vertical exists. What's going on??Also the section it plots on the proposed surface is not the whole template. It chops off 11.5 feet from the edges. I guess this is the subassemly portion. Plz advise/clarify. Thanks.

Mr. Wannabe:
You do not attach a template to a surface.
Slopes that are pinned mean your swath is too narrow or you are outside of
the tin.
Have you done those tutorials, yet?

My friend Bill gets a little ecstatic on occasion. 🙂

Does your firm provide training opportunities for their staff?

Lunchtimes, after work, etc?
