Contour Style Properties

Does anyone know how to change an aecc contour to a different style name
without going thru the Contour Properties dialog box?

Don

If you are looking for a command line method, I don't believe it exists.
With VBA you can create a different method of changing the, then look at the
ContourStyle property on the AeccContour object in the Land ActiveX and VBA
Reference help file. How do you want to change the style?

We have different styles of contours depending on how they are used,
Existing/Proposed/Background. Each placed on their own layer. Also contour
styles are set to a specific scaled name in order for text labels to appear
properly. Wanted a routine that would change styles and layer all in one
shot with a simple macro.

Thanks

Don,

I would be very interested in how you solved that particular issue. I am
facing the very same thing.

I have developed a script that, with a single click, plots all layouts to
DWF Eplots. It creates a doument library that anyone in the office can view
and plot plans from. The only issue I am running into are layouts in the
same drawing that must plot at different scales.... and the only roadblock
there is those dang labels on the contours.

So, you are saying that you have the same contours on seperate layers?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Matt

No...we are still having to address the multiple view/scale issue using
multiple contours on different layers. Once the contours are created and
labeled, you simply run a layer copy to a scaled layer...say C20-Cont-Minr &
C20-Cont-Majr. Then we have pre-defined contour styles based on scale using
a label text style set to 0 height...let the contour style define the text
style for that scale. Example 20-Contour sets text height to 2. Reset the
copied contours to that style for use in a 20-scale viewport. So we still
deal with multiple contours on top of each other isolated by layer. With
the smart objects in AutoCAD now, I do not know why AutoDesk cannot have
text labels automatically display based on viewport scale just like
linetypes do....but if I knew how to do this...I wouldn't be asking so many
questions (grin). If there is a better work-around to this...please post!!
