Asterisk (*) and XREF's

Why when I type XREF to open my External References window for a specific drawing, sometimes the name of my drawing listed at the very top is followed by an asterisk?

What does that mean?

Did you ever find out what the astericks means?  I have a user that just asked the other day.  Thanks
