I can only draw line on X in Ortho mode

I am having a problem this morning. When I started AutoCad LT 2012 and opened my drawing, I can only draw a line in one direction. Also, when i insert a block, all I get is a flat line. Any thoughts?

My guess is you are not in plan view and/or your UCS is not set to World....
