For a new user of ACad LT 2011

I upgraded to ACAD LT 2011 when my trusty AutoSketch wouldn't migrate to Win7 64 bit.

    1.  Is there a good instruction reference/manual for someone without a strong CAD background?

    2. How does ACADLT 2011 handle symbols libraries?  Are any included with the program?

    3. Who knows of good libraries of:

    A. Hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, anchors, etc.

    B. Structural Steel Shapes (W-Beames, tubes, channels, angles, etc.)

    Thank you,

    Paul

Paul, I am also new to ACad 2011.

I have NO commercial motivation in the following:

I bought "Mastering AutoCad 2011", by George Omura, and am finding it useful.

I really like the online tutorials on Lynda.com.  There are several ACad 2011 tutorials by Jeff Bartels.

    Best,

    Bill

Google for steel shapes and hardware. You will find many.

Also search the Dynamic Block forum. There are many steel shapes posted there that can be downloaded. The attached may or may not help you.

Type TP at the Command line and explore what is there. There may be a few symbols and blocks that meet your needs.

Autosketch 10 seems to work for many in Win7, what issues did you have? Did you seek peer assistance in that forum?

Thank you.  I ordered the book on your recommendation and  partly because an Amazon reviewer wrote that he uses it for ACADLT while his son uses it for ACAD.

The Lynda.com tutorials also look helpful, but I need to confirm something:

Am I right to assume that ACAD & ACADLT are so similar that I can use many lessons from ACAD for ACADLT?

    Thanks again,

    Paul

The issue in loading Autosketch onto a new Win7 computer is that the new computer is 64-bit.  I had no trouble loading it onto a Win7 32-bit notebook, but it was to hard to use with the small monitor.

Thank you for the links...they are quite helpful.

Lessons in regard to the basic functioning of the program and how to create a Drawing, Layout, Template, Lines, Circles, Arcs, Blocks, Text, Dimensions, etc., and all the basic drawing stuff.

The most likely thing that will happen is that you will read about this wonderful command in Full AutoCAD that you cannot wait to tryout and it will not be available in LT.
