    Fatal Error when Printing

I'm getting a "FATAL ERROR - Unhandled float invalid operation exception at
47a9e4h" whenever I try to print out of AutoCAD Lt98. I noticed this today
when I added a plotter (HP 750C Plus) driver to my Windows 98 configuration.
Now whenever I try to print to any printer (over a network to plotter, to a
HP4000N laser, and a HP 4/4M laser) I get this weird message. I uninstalled
the plotter from my system in hopes that it was ausing a problem but to no
avail. I'd rather not uninstall LT98 and lose all my config settings (and
it is an upgrade from Lt 95 to Lt97 to Lt98 which is a beast to reinstall).

Everything worked fine printing to the HP4000N laser yesterday. Any ideas
    on possible culprits?

    Thanks!

    Chapman,

Try renaming the ACLT5.CFG file in the AutoCAD LT 98 folder to ACLT5.OLD.

Tried that and it looks like it reset the printer configurations. Only
problem is now when I print to any printer I get the "Regenerating" bar
(like normal) for about a second then another "FATAL ERROR - unhandled float
invalid operation exception at 53f136h" and it bombs me out of the program.

Think a reload of the LT98 upgrade will help any?

    Chapman,

I am beginning to think that the 750C driver you added may have placed a bad
file on the system that is being used by another printer as well. You might try
using the system file checker in Win98 to see if there is something that was
changed when you installed this driver that might be affecting this. Float
errors are generally driver related. If you can't find anything that way, you
may want to try to reinstall your other printers with updated drivers or just
remove them and reinstall in hopes this will overwrite the problem file. I don't
think a reinstallation of AutoCAD LT 98 will help but if all else fails you can
certainly try it. I would suggest you completely delete the AutoCAD LT 98 folder
(after moving any needed drawing files to a different set of folders) prior to
    reinstalling.

I was thinking I'd be "smart" and get the latest driver for the 750C from HP
and install it... all of our printers are HP's...i'll run the system file
    checker and see. Fingers crossed.

Latest driver might fix it too.
