    Corrupt Drawing

I have a complex drawing based on survey data of a 30 acre estate property. I have had trouble with this drawing from the beginning, but now need to share it with someone who cannot open it (V. 2005).

I have saved as DXF, and then tried to open it. I get the following Command Line error:

The following error was encountered while reading
in SPLINE starting at line 102626:
    Premature end of object
Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.

I have tried copying the selectable objects into a new drawing (which sometimes works with a corrupted drawing) to no avail.

Is there any other way to remove this spurious object. I have removed all selectable splines from the drawing. This one is a ghost.

    Many thanks,
    Ron

P.S. I have tried multiple Audit / Recover attempts which reveal no problems at all.

Fixed it. I forgot to delete the block of the file by which I imported the drawing. After deleting the block, I was able to to save a dxf and load it. I am assuming for now that the drawing will also be openable in V. 2005.

    thanks,

Just curious, are you on 2002? If so you shouldn't have to convert it to a
dxf to share, in fact, the person on the 05 end may have less trouble with
    your drawing.

Yes, 2002. He couldn't open the dwg file. So I sent a dxf. He couldn't open that one either. I could open the dwg, but found that I could not open, per my first post, the dxf file I had created! I used the dxf file to discover the corrupt object. Fortunately, it was a spline and there were only 8 in the drawing.

I still would like to know how to fix corruptions that Audit/Recover do not fix.

PURGE and WBLOCK commands together are good ways to remove
content from files that may be causing issues.

If your 2005 colleague cannot open your DWG file, do the
above then ZIP it up and post it here for someone to look
    at.

    Thanks, Dean,
I had a feeling there was a regular way to do this.
