If you have any HP drivers installed take them off, I have had the same problem and noe it works fine just can not use any thing hp.
Did you remove the original install following Autodesk procedures to get Registry entries also?
As a follow on to the other poster: Are both machines using HP drivers?
This poster has offered removing HP as a solution to other prolems. I would wonder if they are XP drivers trying to be used on a Win 7 machine.

I did a fresh install.
I reinstalled my HP Designjet 500. Thats the only Hp product with drivers.
sometimes it has an error on exit, It says that it saves files reporting the error but the files are not in the directory. I changed the file view so that i can view hidden files & they were still not there.
There has been a conflict reported that is caused by Adobe's Acrobat Pro Enhanced as it attempts to 'capture the CAD module'.
Look for Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended installed on the problem machine. Other customers have reported the conflict when running AutoCAD that affects start up or normal line creation.
If Acrobat Pro is found, try this procedure to stop the conflict:
1. Go to the Windows Control Panel
2. Select the Uninstall feature
3. Choose Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended
4. Select Modify
5. Expand Adobe 3D
6. Choose "Capture CAD Modules"
7. Select "This feature will not be available"
That program is not installed on this machine.
I have attached 2 photos showing the list of programs installed on the problem machine, I hope this helps.
Have you used “Free Window Registry Repair” since you installed AutoCAD LT? If so Go to “Programs and Features” in the Windows Control panel, Double-click on AutoCAD LT and choose to repair install it. Utilities such as these tend to break as much or more than they fix.
TrendMicro may be interrupting AutoCAD LT. Try starting AutoCAD LT with TrendMicro disabled or from Diagnostic Mode. If it works in Diagnostic Mode it is likely TrendMicro, a driver, or some other background application that is causing the crash.
Autodesk Product Support has several SR’s for crashing of AutoCAD because of the HP Universal Print Drivers. The solution is to try the most recent drivers for your device from the HP web site or use the drivers that came with Windows.
It can’t hurt to double check the display adapter drivers.
I see the open command in your first screen shot. Does this happen when you open specific drawings?
Can you be more specific as to when exactly does it happen and what functions or workflow you were using at the time of the crash?
I did use the registry repair but just restored to the previous.
The error will only happen when i click on the save button or exit Autocad.
Other errors have appeared when exiting but do not give me any information . the file attached show the errors that don't show any information. I will continue running Autocad with the restored registry, to see if i have any errors in the future.
I am still getting the same error even after i reverted back to the original registry! The error was the same as my last post. This time i only have 1 file open. I saved the file then closed the file by clicking on the x on the top right of the screen (not the one to close Autocad the one to close the file). This error happens on different files not just the one.
I am going insane!!!
I did a full clean uninstall of Autocad 2010lt again then rebooted a few times to make sure windows was booting up fine. Everthing was running ok. I then did a fresh install of Autocad 2010lt including the update. I lasted 10min before it crashed.
When you say “full clean uninstall” do you mean that you followed this Technical Solution?
Try disabling Aero in Windows Personalization. For example try using the Windows 7 Basic theme as an alternative to the Windows 7 Aero theme.
Also test with Diagnostic Mode. If it works here the cause of the problems may be the display or pointer drivers, another driver, a background process (such as an antivirus application) a system utility (like the Registry cleaner). Might the Registry cleaner or other system utility be scheduled to run at some interval? Try resolving problems with the drivers and compare what you have installed and configured between the two computers.
Under the uninstall information a note might want to be added that in the regedit to search for "autodesk". I found many other entry's in there & yet the only Autodesk software installed on this machine was autocad 2010lt. This might have fixed the problem. I have just done a reinstall, using those instructions & removing the extra entries in the regedit, I will keep this post active, for a while but so far, I think this may have been the problem.
Autocad 2010lt is still crashing. All other software on this computer is working perfect its just Autocad.
my system spec's are
ASUS M4A79XTD EVO
AMD AM3 Phenom II x4 955 3.2Ghz
G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 1600
500GB SATA WD
Gigabyte 1GB 5770 PCI-E
Antec 750watt PSU
WIN7 64 Pro
I have run tests on this computer to check for hardware faults and even done a burn in test. All hardware is ok!
I have another computer with the same hardware and software & it is running fine.
Dude I'm so sorry that you are having this many difficulties.
I know it does not help but if this computer is owned by someone else a 12 gauge will do the trick. ;-))))
Wipe it clean and start over.
You've been here on enough to know the drill.
Doesn't seem like the "usual" is working at all.
When all else fails: punt!
Autodesk just wants to make sure you are paying attention from time to time.
BTW - There seems to be a great "push" to make sure that your graphics drivers/cards are compatible. Do you think maybe the powers that be missed something? Have you looked at the graphics card CYA at the top of the forum? Tried any of that by chance?
Maybe remove all the .NET installs and start afresh and see what happens? Of course this goes back to "wipe it clean and start over" and I do not mean AutoCAD; I'm talkin' Windows. Which takes me back to Autodesk's .NET thoughts or the Aero conflict, and of course Trend Micro might be conflicting. WOW, what program works with 2010 or 11?
Yea just ranting, I still like my '08

Thankyou for the feedback
I have check the list of video drivers & my video card is not listed. But I have used 2 other computers with the same video card & have not had any problems. All my drivers are up to date & I really dont want to do a fresh install of windows due to the fact of some OEM software that i don't have a CD for. Autodesk has been a big help previously & i do appreciate their time & effort they put into these forums.
Trend is also working well on the other computer with the same settings. I first thought that maybe it maybe the printer drivers conflicting but the printers are networked & also the other computer has no problems. i might try to uninstall all the .NET & see what happens. But re-installing windows will be a last resort. But I will try anything at the moment.
the 2 PC's i'm using are identical and on the same network using the same printers, all AutoCad's settings are the same and i have tried opening the files that i have errors with and the other computer works fine.
i think i have found the problem Autocad is crashing because Terramodel exports are not compatible with autocad 2010. I will talk with Terramodel next week to find out more information. But at the moment thats the only thing i can think off that is causing the issue.
While you are waiting to check with Terramodel you can test with creating some dummy drawings with AutoCAD. Do you have problems when you open AutoCAD from the regular shortcut and create entirely native drawings? Do you use these Terramodel drawings on both computers?
Also, be careful using Search in the Registry. After the products uninstallers run the remaining content in our Solution TS45252 really has all Registry entries users should be removing on their own. One of the main causes of very difficult to solve reinstall’s is that the Add and Remove Programs or Programs and Features lists do not contain the product but the user can not reinstall it.
