windows 98 and sp1

Have users been successful using lt2004 with windows 98? I did the install
no problem, but the sp1 does not work. I get a strange pop up box with
gibberish and an ok button. Press that and it goes away, but no service
pack install. Any responses good and bad are appreciated.

LT2004 requires Win2000 or WinXP: SP1 simply enforces the requirement by not
loading anywhere else.
