vista and xp compatable ?

I plan on purchasing autocad LT 2009, my laptop will have Vista, but my desktop is running xp. Should I expect problems starting a project on the Vista laptop and then downloading to my desktop (I am using dual monitors on the desktop) and more than likely transfering back to the laptop?

also, can anybody explain the difference between 2008 LT (new) and 2008 LT) old ?

Thank you

LT2008 and LT2009 both run fine with both operating systems. DWG Files are
not affected by which Windows version you use or where.

Thanks for the info.
I was also wondering about the 2008 LT (new) and 2008 (old) I have seen this on various web sites, what are they talking about?
Thank you

no idea what you are looking at, 2008LT is the pervious version of AutoCAD
LT, 2008 is often an abbreviation or Full AutoCAD 2008, also the previous
version of that product.

No idea.  2008 LT is 2008 LT (there is
no "old or "new" version of 2008).  There are a couple of service packs...
but those can and should be installed on both computers which would make them
both 2008 LT-SP(whatever).

Is there a problem with AutoCAD LT 2007 program compatibility from Windows 2000 to XP? My company is now upgrading from Windows 2000 to XP and wanted to know if there was any problem with the migration?

Thanks in advance,

I should think it would work better for you w/o compatibilty mode if you have been running it that way.

So, AutoCAD LT 2007 is compatible with XP and runs much smoother?

Should work fine. There is a little out there in Google that LT07 is Windows 2000 and XP-Pro SP2 supportive. LT07 is moving toward it's 3 year abandonment.
