updated from 2002lt to 2014lt

Hey guys

I have been using acad 2002lt ever since new and just bought and loaded 2014lt. When I open my files with the 2014 version all I see is dots and a small amount of text. Any ideas?

Strange. AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT recent versions are capable of opening existing DWG files created with even old versions from the 1980's - there isn't a file compatibility problem - unless there are some 3rd party objects in these DWG files.

Can you upload a sample drawing and let someone else take a look?

Yeah I thought so too. Anyway, I closed autocad 2014 and went out in the shop for a couple hours. Came back in and did a quick sample drawing in 2002 for you and decided to try to open it in 2014. Now it works... and I can view all my files in 2014. I even closed out and restarted 2014 several times before... Weird.. lol Man Indifferent

Same exact file? or is this a new one you just received from another source?
