cursor and graphics lagging and dragging in ACAD using 2010 in Windows 7

Software:  ACAD LT 2010.  Recently I upgraded to a new computer and Windows 7, from Win XP.  Now ACAD is lagging and dragging.  Also, sometime it takes forever to open a file.

Here are my new computer specs.

Dell Precision T3600,MT,425W

Four Core XEON E5-1607, 3.0GHz, 10M, Dell Precision T3600
8GB DDR3 UDIMM 1600,NECC,4x2GB,Dell Precision
1GB nVIDIA Quadro 600,Dual Monitor,1DP and 1DVI,Dell Precision T3600, T5600, T7600
500GB,SATA,3.5",7200,NCQ,16M
C1 SATA 3.5 Inch,1-2 Hard Drive,Dell Precision T3600
Windows 7 Professional,No Media, 64-bit,Fixed Precision, English
RAID,CNTRL,INTEL,PAYG,A,T3600

I tried the solution below with no luck.

I have also installed a new graphics card provided by dell with no luck.

Then as you note, it has nothing to do with your slowdown.

Try setting the customer involement program in the communication center to "Do Not Participate" if it is not already. Also, turn off COMMCTR and see if that helps.

By chance, have you recently (or normally) access a thumbdrive or mobile drive with AutoCAD?

COMMCTR is not a valid command (if thats what you are implying).  I selected 'do not participate' with no luck.

I may have used a thumb drive once or twice, but not regularly.

No, that was my abbreviation for Communications Center.

Do this test: OPEN, SAVE and CLOSE about 12-15 DWG files on your PC (don't skip a step) and see if you can get AutoCAD to 'forget' about that USB you accessed recently. Then see if your performance goes up.

BTW, disconnect the device from your USB ports as good measure.

If all this fails, I'm afraid I've run out of ideas. You might consider paying for support to get further or wait for other ideas to try from other users:

Safety Net / Per Incident Autodesk support (not free):

Contact a Reseller for support (not free):

Since you have nothing to lose, you might consider a proper uninstall and reinstall (latter while in Diag mode in Windows): Autodesk recommended uninstall/reinstall procedures are as follows
Uninstall: http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS45252
Reinstall (for XP/Vista users): http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS75218

Ensure the user installing/uninstalling and using the product have enough rights to do so (install and reinstall as local administrator):
Unable to run AutoCAD® as a restricted user http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS1055299
