cannoscale keeps crashing my AutoCAD LT 2008

Hi,

Does anyone have any advice on how to address this or avoid it?

I have a drawing that keeps crashing my AutoCAD LT 2008 when I try to change the annotative scale through the "drop down" list on the lower right hand side of the screen. Now here is the thing, when I finnally go into windows control panel to shut the thing down (LT just freezes) it takes quite a while to get a response then, Windows generates a Microsoft Error, but it is appears that it is cannoscale that is causing this hang up.

I did reset the annoscales to get rid of the excess "xref" scales prior to this happening. Also, when I reset it....three "xref" type scales remained.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Restart your PC.

RECOVER command, start with the Xrefs first, then the top file.
Purge scalelists in all files individually, starting with Xrefs.

Turn off "maintain Visual Fidelity" in Options>open tab in LT: yes, this may
crash your session. Don't forget to tap that Apply button.
