Using customization interface in Autocad Lt 2010

If I type on the command line _attedit and than press return, the command line says select block reference.

When I use the same command in the pull down menus the command line says edit attributes one at a time. Why?

Please explain

Thanks

pulldown menus are basically shortcuts. The shortcuts often do not
reflect all of the capabilities of the commandline version of the
command. As an example "purge" vs "-purge" the first brings up the purge
selection box which does not have the ability to remove regapps, while
the second is a less friendly command line control structure but has the
missing ability to remove regapps.
