Want to use digital signatures in AutoCAD LT 2009

Is anyone using digital signatures in AutoCAD LT 2009? We want to start using them to ensure that .dwg files aren't changed after they have been reviewed and approved. The information that I am finding on the Autodesk website and on the Internet seems to deal with old versions of AutoCAD but not with 2009 so I can getting confused. I would like to know exactly what we need in order to get this in place. The Verisign website doesn't tell you much about AutoCAD either so I don't know what we need to purchase, if I need to get our IT department involved in case something needs to be put on the server, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Digital Signatures identify file ownership, nothing more.

A DS in AutoCAD can be removed by simply exporting to DXF, and then opening
and saving that back to a DWG file.

To assign a DS (actually, a Digital ID) to a file, or files, you need to be
outside AutoCAD/LT and use the Attach Digital Signatures program LT
installed. You can also use SECURITYOPTIONS command inside LT.

To get a Digital ID(certificate), you need to buy one; VeriSign and others
offer that: these are not custom made for apps like AutoCAD, these sellers
do not care or cater for specific programs, these are standalone features of
electronic files and file exchanges you add to each PC user.

So, in a nutshell, you need to talk to VeriSign or whomever about costs,
procedures for recipients to receive and verify your signatures, test
in-house because you will need to walk all of your recipients through it as
well.

Oh, don't forget to turn off SIGWARN variable (and your recipient needs to
do the same) if you want to avoid a lot of pup-ups.
