MNU = Original Menu Template.
MNS = MNU + Customized tollbars.
MNC & MNR = Compliled versions of MNS.
Distribute the MNS file and delete existing MNC & MNR.
If you are doing a lot of customization a good idea
is to make a new menu file and load as a partial menu.
This way you can add stuff without interfreing with
other changes already done.
Another thing, somtimes menus get corrupted and
need recompilng. All changes made to the MNS will be lost.
Follow this tutorial to make your own partial menu.
Make a new menu file:
1. Create a new text document (i.e. a *.txt from notepad)
2. Name it to something like MyMenu.mnu
3. Save the file in LT's Support folder.
4. Open it in Notepad and add a single row: ***MENUGROUP=MyMenu
Menugroup can be anything, just a habit of mine to use the file name.
5. In AutoCAD LT, Tools -> Customize -> Menus.
6. Uncheck "Replace all".
7. Click Browse and open MyMeny.mnu.
8. Click Load and answer Yes to next dialog.
Add stuff to the new menu:
1. View -> Toolbars.
2. Select MyMenu in the "Menugroup" list.
3. Add toolbars & buttons as usual.
4. Close LT.
You now also have Mymenu.mns, mnc & mnr.
All new toolbars are in the mns file
5. Delete MyMenu.mnu, mnc & mnr.
6. Rename mns to mnu.
Now you have a partial menu. This menu
can be recompiled without loosing any buttons.
Future customization of MyMenu:
New toolbars ends up (as always) in the mns file.
Copy theese sections from the mns file
and paste inte the mnu file.
When you becomes an "LT-menu-expert" add toolbars
and buttons by editing the mnu file directly.
Remember to reload (compile) the mnu file after editing.
