Single Line Text Style - Not Found

Why can't I have anyother style aprt from standard with single line text? If i list styles, standard is the only one that comes up, If i do multiline text and explode it, it goes back to standard.

I do have a few single line text styles from other drawings that i am currently bringing in and matching from, but I need to satrt experimenting with other text styles not on offer (in this form). I ultimatly would like this as room naming and titling is easy to edit and accept over multiline text, although I am using this option through sheare frustation. Thank you.....j

Hi

Type style on the command line then enter. Use the text style dialog box to
create new text styles.
Type the style name when prompted when you do single line text to switch to
your new style.

You have to load/define a text style in order to use it: all you are doing
in MTEXT is changing the external font of the block of text, and not
changing the Text Style definition at all.

Start HELP in LT, look up the chapters about text and text style and the
command STYLE to better understand the concept in AutoCAD.
