Saving Autocad Lt drawings in 2005 format

I would like to save drawings done in 2011 in a format that can be read and edited in 2005 format. Can I do this with 2011 or do I need to use an additional program? thank you Bob Atkinson

Under the dropdown Tool, Options, Open and Save Tab, set this to 2004 Format.

You will loose 2011 enhancments in the 2005 format. Notably Multileaders will become text entities without the Multileader functionality.

There will be other issues. Wait for others to chime in.

OPTIONS command>Save tab>set the format of DWG file you wish to always save.

You can also use SAVEAS command to save to a different DWG format, 2005 is considered LT2004 format.

As noted above, features in LT2011 do not exist is LT2005, so if you want to be absolutely sure the recipient can work with every element in the files you send them, use -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command (onote the dash I put just before the name).

Actually, I believe they turn into un-editable proxy entities. (Although I don't have access to pre-2008 right now, so I can't test it.)

But can be exploded and then manipulated as multi-line text?
