Reflective Ceiling Plan

Could someone give me a detailed description or definition of a "Reflective Ceiling Plan" to give to the guys in the shop? Some of them are having a hard time interpreting the drawing and I guess I am not able to communicate it to them properly.
Thanks

A "reflected" (not reflective) ceiling plan is what the floor plan would
look like if the viewer was holding a mirror, and looking down into it. It
is basically a mirror image of what the ceiling plan looks like. It shows
the lights, diffusers, grids, sprinkler heads, headers, soffits, etc. Doors
and windows would also show their headers above. It generally does not show
the doors, or anything on the floor level, such as furnishings, fixtures,
millwork, casework, sills, etc.

Also, look at the last paragraph here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floor_plan

Here are some examples:

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Things like Water closets, Tubs, Sinks, Doors - plan and elevation, Windows - plan and elevation, Cabinets - plan and elevation, Closet accoutrements, Air handlers, Hot Water Heaters, Appliances, etc.

Desks, Chairs, Tables, Furniture, etc.

Smoke detectors, Vant fans, and if you get into this: Outlets, Swithches, Meter bases, Air compressors, Gas meters, etc.

Really anything that is not a Wall or Structural element of the plan.

I had a vant fan once, in my '66 Econoline...

If by some odd chance my nattering was useful -- that's great, glad to help. But if it actually solved your issue, then please mark my solution as accepted 🙂
