POLE BARN?????

I know this is not an autocad question, but everyone here is so helpful i thuoght i would ask. Does any one know how to design a pole barn. For example structural calculations. I work at a structural firm but we do not know how to design pole barns. When we try the numbers do not work. So i am just looking for some example calculations so i can see what we are doing different. If anyone can help me or lead me in the right direction that would be greatly apprieciated.

There are pole barns and there are pole barns. Around here, the poles are
typically set in concrete, maybe 4' deep, and the lateral structure derives
from the poles' bending resistance. Another approach is to set the poles
with anchors at or near the surface, and construct the building more or less
like a many-legged table, where the lateral structure depends on the joints
between the poles and their adjoining horizontal members. Either approach
should be fairly straightforward for a qualified Structural Engineer.

Depending on your area, you're likely to find firms that specialize in pole
buildings, and typically work from proven "cookbook" designs.
