PDF w/ plot styles

I had been using AutoCAD 2000 and had been able to print to .pdfs using Acrobat with correct line weights. I have recently installed LT 2005 and cannot configure my acrobat correctly. I have replaced my .pc3 files with files from a co-worker that plot correctly on his 2000 version. I have also replaced my .ctb files and they are correct on other plotters on our network. Can anyone think of anything else I can check?

I noticed that the LT 2005 has a new feature on merging or overlaying lines, could this have anything to do with it?

It looks like my different layers are various shades of gray colors vs. weighted black lines.

I even re-installed Acrobat.

I'm totally stuck. Any help would be great.

could it be something simple like your files are now in STB mode, and cannot
see your CTB?

Why a PC3 file? Why are you using anything from an old 2000 product? Why not
make all new in 2005? What PDF creation are you using?

I guess I'm not sure about the STB and CTB modes. I just looked up the issue and converted my CTB files to STB files and then converted modes. It doesn't seem to help. It seem like you cannot select a STB file if you are in CTB mode and vice versa.

I have tried making a new PC3 file and it does the same thing.

I'm using Adobe Acrobat.

The weird thing is that my line weights are correct for the other plotters (HP plotters) I use, just not correct for adobe.

1. PLOT only to Acrobat direct: no PC3 file, no plot style table. Does it
work?

2. PLOT only to Acrobat direct, no PC3 file, MONOCHROME.ctb plot style table
that came with 2005 (make sure Plot with Plot styles is selected). Does it
work?

If you answered YES to both, make a copy of the MONOCHROME ctb, then
manually edit the pen settings to exaggerated line weights.
Now PLOT only to Acrobat direct, no PC3 file, and this new ctb plot style
table (make sure Plot with Plot styles is selected). Does it work?

If you answered yes, then open this new CTB and reset the line weights to
your preferred settings.

If you still insist on creating a PC3 file, now, after all the above, you
may do so.

DO NOT use or reuse any 'old' Plot content from 2000.

Speaking of pdf files, I have noticed with lt2005, if you have a non
rectangulr viewport, & trying to make a pdf file, a part of your viewprot is
not plotted., & when the same drawing is chnged to rectangulr viewport, then
the problem goes away.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Matt

non-rectangular viewports have issues. Still not resolved in 2006.
