Modify text for a Linear Dimension 2008LT. cannot change text hight

i have created a new drawing in AutoCad LT 2008.
i have drawn a line.
i create a Linear Dimension. for one end of the line to the other.
The text is to Large so i modify properties. under the text tab i notice the text height is 1, i change the text height to 0.2 and the text in the drawing has not changed. The arrow size will change and i tried most of the other options and they seem to work ok. the only way i can change the text is by opening the dimension style manager and changing the text in there but this takes way to long.

Does anyone have any ideas?

You are supposed to set the text height in the DIMSTYLE: are you trying to
do something else?

Also, is your STYLE setting adding a height as is perhaps not set to zero?

Are you using a test stylewhich has a fixed height rather than a height
of 0?

I am not sure of what you mean. i have attached my template file. in AutoCad 2004LT i never had this problem. so i think it may be a setup problem. I have used this method for quite some time because my dimension have different text heights in the one autocad file.
