MTEXT Problems

Dear All,

I have 2 problems

1) When I select MTEXT my selection for the size of the bounding box is ignored and I get a long thin box right across the screen fom left to right.

2) I highlight the text I want to edit. I want to change text height from 0.2 to 2 but the height goes wild and the height is 253.4355. I have no idea where such a huge height has come from but I am finding it impossible to set the text height in the text height box.

I am hoping that I have missed something simple. I have searched the forum and the help files but can find no explanation.

Any help gratefully received.

Regards,

Andrew

Are you by chance using Annotative text styles?

Dean,

The short answer is yes.

I have just upgraded and annotive text is new to me. I do have the 'Bible' open as a type! and am reading to try and find my mistake.

I know you like people to work at the solution. I have no problem with that but a clue would be much appreciated!!
Why does the bounding box do its own thing?

Kind Regards

Andrew

Dean,

Sorry, I don't think I'm using annotative text.

Command Line:

Command: _mtext Current text style: "Engineer" Text height: 0.2000
Annotative: No
Specify first corner:

I'll keep reading.
Whatever I do the bounding box will not conform to my choice of size.

Also when I right click this w i d e bounding box I get:
Paragraph...
Set MText Width... (Greyed Out)
Set MText Height... (Greyed Out)

Regards

Andrew

Dean,

Have done some reading. Attached file where the bounding box comes right across the screen.

Thank you so much for your time.

Sorry, it does not seem to be doing it for me. Is there a specific Mtext, or
all? Or is it related to the missing Xref... .
