Locked Layer Fade to layers within Blocks.

Is there a way to apply the layer fading to locked layers when objects are within a block. Using block edit or refedit does apply the fade, but when working in normal space they appear unfaded.

Think about it, how would you be able to move/copy a block if parts of it where locked/inaccessible? You don't need to move/copy that block? Then lock the layer it's on. It's not practical to design such a feature into AutoCAD.

See if your objects being in a GROUP instead of a BLOCK has the effect you want (I did not try it for you).

I dont want the object to acctually be locked, it is effectively locked anyway as its on the layer thats is locked, that is fine. I simply want that layer to fade as it would do as if it was out of the block.

Not an option.
