LARGE file size

I am experiencing a problem with large file sizes after inserting templates from another file. The file I created, I would like to duplicate the tabs, viewports, title blocks, etc.... After inserting the tabs from that file (which is total of 5mb) I have now created a file that is 13mb's. Is there a reason for this? Is there a way around this? I am at a loss, and there is no way that I can even zip a file that is 14-15 mb to send to anyone......
any help would be greatly appreciated

Nate

Layer Filters, Like I wrote to you earlier, they needed to
be deleted.
It helps if you actually try everything, not just some
things.

You are right. I was confuse about delete layers. I have to delete the named layer filters from the layer properties manager in the named layer filters in the button with .... and then delete all the filters there. That´s why we need a macro to make it faster.
Thank you for your help

Hi,
About the file size, I am deleting all the named layer filters in the layer properties manager, in the button "...." and my file is smaller and smaller each time I delete them. You made a macro in lsp to delete them all?

If you have full AutoCAD, do a search for a "layer filter delete" lisp in
the AutoCAD 2004-2006 NGs. If you only have LT then there is nothing you can
do other then what you are doing.

What version of LT are you running? Later versions have tools to help with
this.

I have LT 2000 and LT 2006. The last one I just started to use it. How can I delete them in LT 2006?
Thanks

LT2006 and higher can delete layer filters automatically,
based on the LAYERFILTERALERT variable setting.

In lower LT versions, you delete these one by one, manually,
in LAYER command.

I have spent the last hour deleting layer filters - some of the names are weird and I have not created them. Do you know the reason why these filters have been created - I certainly have not.

If the dwg or any part of the dwg came from another source, like ADT, they
where probably created there.

Thankyou all for your discussion points. Deleting the layer filters has worked - just takes time.
