Hatch pattern preview not working on some drawings

For someone unknown reason the hatch pattern preview does not work on some drawings - I have tried turning HPQUICKPREVIEW  off and on but this does not make any difference. Also the hatch palette images boxes are blank at times (I have to slect the update tool image to get them back). This only happens on some drawings (others work fine). Any suggestions??

I have been experimenting further and it seems that the issue relates to other hatch patterns, blocks etc on the drawing. E.g. If I freeze some layers associated with hedgerow, kitchen, bedroom blocks etc then the hatch preview works - Any suggestions on why other blocks in drawing are causing the preview not to show?

BTW its a standalone machine

You have hatching set to a defined layer that is frozen or off most likely. Change it.

All hatch patterns in tool palette are defined to 'Hatch' layer which is on and not frozen.

Computer and Video specs?

Maybe too much going on for the machine to handle at some point.

Set HPLAYER to "use current" as a test in these few problem files and see if your problem goes away. Look up that variable's usage in HELP.
Always ensure layer 0 is on/thawed/unlocked and otherwise untampered with too.

'Use current' is the default setting on HPLAYER and has always been this way on my computer - Anything else I could try?
