Geographic Location Problem

Hi,

I hope someone can help with this issue!

Using AutoCAD LT 2014.

Here's the sequence:

  1. Open a drawing
  2. Go to Insert tab
  3. Click on Set Location
  4. Choose From Map
  5. Type in location's postcode
  6. Click search
  7. Window shows aprx correct location
  8. Click Drop Marker Here

Window fades, timer wheel appears and does not rotate, widow goes blank as per attachment, no further response

If I close the window and try again it just opens up blank again!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

So you are using the LIVE MAP DATA requirement? or not?
and you are logged into Autodesk 360?

Here is a nice tutorial to explain the process:

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I am signed in to 360, I presume that I have said yes to Live data as I have used Geolocation before with no problem. Is that something I can check?

The issue is that I get to  certain point and it just grinds to a halt and is not responsive any more. If I close the drawing, shut down AutoCAD and try again I get to roughly the same place and it stops again, sometimes a little further. I have attached a screen shot of the situation it stops at. It is clicking on 'Drop Marker Here' that seems to be the trigger. If that does work (very rarely) and I try to move the pin then I get the blank window.

My internet connection is up, my PC's resources are fine.

If I just close the Geographic Location pop up window and try again without closing down AutoCAD it immediatley opens in the blank state.

Thanks.

Hi,

If you select a differnet location, from and empty file, does it works?

If with this conditions still fails, my suggestion can be to repair your installation.

It seems that it does work sometimes with an empty file, but very slowly and not all the time.
Can you be more specific about 'repair your installation'?
Thanks.
