By layer changes to Hatch Layer by its self

Hello, I currently manage 6 drafting stations for a custom cabinet company. we recently had a strange problem start occurring on one of the machines. When the user would go to hatch a field it would alter the settings of the layers. The layers are set to print by layer, but when this user would hatch the layer any new line he would draw after that would be colored in hatch layer but show the properties of a different layer. for example; the drafter will draw the cabinets in red cabinet layer but the line would come out yellow on the screen which is hatch layer. now it would also print with hatch layer properties. If this makes any since to you please reply...Thank you

That's a little hard to follow, but... does the colour list on the Properties toolbar show "ByLayer" or Yellow? -- Dave Byrnes / Vancouver, BC Autodesk Discussion Group Facilitator "dkgentry" wrote in message news:27425310.1096928982817.JavaMail.jive@jiveforum2.autodesk.com... > Hello, I currently manage 6 drafting stations for a custom cabinet company. we recently had a strange problem start occurring on one of the machines. Dave, I think the OP has the "Retain Boundary" checked on the BHATCH's dialog box's Advanced tab. -- Tracy W. It changes from by layer to yellow after the user has hatched a field. Sorry about the poor description.

Just as a foot note. this user is utilizing the tool pallet to do his hatch. also we checked on the bhatch dialog, the retain boundaries is not checked. just as to reword the original concern. after this user has hatched a field and completed that command he will then go to draw any item such as text, lines, circles, you name it, and it comes out in hatch color and wants to print with the hatch line weights. Now you can go change the layer to cabinet layer with red as its color and it still draws in yellow with hatch properties.

thank you for what ever help you can provide....

The TOOLPALETTE setup probably is still retaining the originally created properties for that/those entities. Have your user recreate the problem by strictly using the core commands: BHATCH, HATCH, DTEXT or MTEXT only, watch his properties settings before drawing to confirm the issues exist. -- Dean Saadallah Add-on products for LT http://www.pendean.com/lt --
