Autodesk Plot Style Manager Missing in Windows 7

I should have rewarded the main title. I feel a new install of Windows 7 comeing on. It is very strange why the Plot style manager has gone for a walk it may still be about but I can,t find it. Is it loaded with Autocad.

It likely is behind something or on the edge of the screen.

Did you go from dual to single monitor or change resolution?

Changing the screen resolution can also show if something is near to the edge of the screen.
Sometimes this will show up as a dark line on the edge of the Desktop.

Or try:
Type (Command Dialog) then Alt+Space (this will open the Alt menu for the dialog box)
Type M (Move)
Now press and hold an arrow key, or two, or three to see if the dialog will come on screen.
Not sure if it will be left, right, up, or down.

I possibly did not explain very wekk. The Plot Style Manager is still listed in the file list on left hand side my problem is when I open up the plot style manager non of the plot styles will open indication is when I then go to Control Panel to check the Autodesk Plot Style Manager tell me it can,nt be found. I think it could be a windows problem. Yes I can plot a drawing but if I wish to attach a plot style file to send out it will not open as I have said Plot Style manager not found. I just wonder where it has gone on my other PC no problem as it all works OK. But this is a pain in the rear tried to Google but no success.

What LT version do you have?

Are you on a Limited User Account in Win7?

Have you tried a removal and reinstall of LT?

How are you trying to access this?

Is LT telling you that there are no Plot Styles available?

OPTIONS, Files, Printer Support File Path, Plot Style Table Search Path...   what is here?

I have just done a complete uninstall and reinstall and the problem still exists let me try and explain in LT file scroll down to Plot Style Manager it access a list of plot styles back into windows if I try and access any of the plot styles it will not let me. I then open up Control Panel and note the AutoDesk Plot Style Manager the response is Autocad Plot Style Manager not found  DLL not found: hcreg11Res.dll. I am at a loss what to do next other than an OS reinstall. Thanks for the replies so far. My conclusion is for some reason the Autodesk Plot Style Manager is missing how that has happened have not got a clue.

Did you uninstall this way:

Autodesk Recommended Clean Install Procedure:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?linkID=9240817&id=2887771&siteID=123112

Making sure you got the Registry Items as well?

Also it may be worth repairing/removing/installing the .NET's as well:

.NET Cleanup Utility:
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Installation-Licensing/NET-Framework-Cleanup-Tool-for-Unhandled-Except...

Read up on the links from Travis Nave.

.NET updates can muck with AutoCAD.

Registry Editor run recently?

More to try before the OS fun 'cause I know you have better things planned for this weekend. Smiley Very Happy

More thoughts. When Acad 2011 is unistalled then Plotter Manager and Plot style Manager are uninstalled so they are both part of the Autodesk product did a check after unistallation and they were not there. Then do a new installation of LT 11 and they reapear in the Control Panel but will not open as if the OS has a problem. Win 7 Ultimate OS. My thoughts were that a shared file may be missing or the reg is corrupt it did say when this first happened that :

DLL not found : hcreg11 Res.dll  Could this be the problem missing file but have not got a clue what to do next other than a reinstall of Windows 7 on Monday.

CCLEANER is a freeware Windows Registry and overall System Cleaner that works well and does nto usually mess up AutoCAD or other applications.

I suggest a removal of AutoCAD as suggested by Autodesk (link above from Charles), followed by a system restart, then use CCLEANER to fix your registry and clean up your system of errors it finds. Repeat unitl nothing is found, then proceed with a reinstall.

Post back if that does nothing or you are still having issues.

CCleaner is really a good tool for this. Please, also try the diagnostic mode which is described here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?linkID=9240617&id=6453117&siteID=123112

This is to check if another application is 'spewing in'. I attached also a valid hcreg11res.dll. You don't have to register because it is not an ActiveX. Just replace the old one in %program folder%\en-US. (You can backup first the old one before)

Did a OS Win7 Ultimate full reinstall and it cleared the propblem. I now have a Plotter manager and Plot style manager this was part of a problem when I posted approximately 3 months ago about missing icons this was the same problem a file had gone missing which need to be installed and the only way was with a reinstall.

I know a long time ago but just stumbled on your problem as I now have the same with ACAD LT2014.
Do you know by any change wat files are missing?

Thanks,

Eugene
