I was running LT on 2 gig of Ram and it kept freezing up, especially with hatches. Installed another 2 gig and no problems

Hi Charlie,

Windows 7 Home Premium

Autocad LT 2011

Thanks,

Autocad customer service operator was horrible. She says she can read me the system requirements off their site. So I said I already did that and there is no mention of celeron processors. So she says if it isn't listed it isn't compatible. I hung up.

Win 7 Home Premium I've read, regardless of what the box says, will be a poor performer for LT.

Quadruple the RAM. The OS is using more than the 2 Gig that you have.

The processor will be for others to help you with but my gut tells me your system is inadequate to run LT efficiently.

The prollem I have heard about Celeron processors is they don't really perform to whatever number they are listed at -- it's roughly 3/4 of, say, a Pentium or Athlon processor with a similar number. Hence thay are cheaper 😉

I hope my info was useful, but if by some odd chance it actually solved your issue, feel free to mark your post as "Accept as Solution". Thanks! 🙂

I don't know if this still is the case or if this was true, but back when Celerons first appeared the rumor was when a pentium failed to achieve it's full design intent during testing it was then deliberately 'hobbled', labelled a Celeron, and sold to lower tier vendors so as not to throw away the manufactured chip.
