Autocad LT2005

How can I get LT2005 to work on Windows 7? My old computer which I need to change runs on XP professional.

Turn off Win7's UAC and just try it.

If that does not work, explore the topic of running old software in Win7 at MIcrosoft's website and Win7's Compatibility/XP Mode.

Did you have any luck getting info on running LT2005 on Windows 7?

I am having the same issue with needing to upgrade my old XP machine, and need to spec which version of Windows 7.  It seems there are several options:

  • 32 or 64 bit?
  • xp compatible version or non-xp compatible?
  • home or professional or ultimate?

Did you get it all set up?

Thanks...

Sorry but I can't help you. I eventually bought a new computer with an XP operating system as it was easier all round! Needless to say ACAD LT2005 is running smoothly on it. All the best.

  • If Win 7 you should buy 64 bit.
  1. - Problem is; will you be able to install a 32 bit LT 2005 program? Not sure but believe no
  2. - 32 bit will be inefficient if you decide to upgrade to LT 2011
  • Ultimate and Professional both have XP mode which will allow your old program to run.
