Autocad LT 2014 - Opening Autocad LT 2000 Files - Crash after a few seconds

Hi all

when we open Autocad LT 2000 files with the program AutoCAD LT 2014 , we've the problem, that AutoCAD LT 2014 crashes after a few seconds.

We couldn't find any solution for this problem.

We're using a HP Elitedesk 800 E1 TWR with Windows 8.1

graphiccard: Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Newest driver, 22.01.2014)

The failure-code changes all the time. (see attached)

With our Win XP - PC it was possible this old files with AutoCAD LT 2014.

Does anybody know, how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance & kind regards

VOPA

Hello

Welcome to the Autodesk/AutoCAD Forums !

Q1) Have you tried to open these OLD files in RECOVER Mode ?

Q2) Can you share with us some files (ZIP or RAR format) please ?

I have already opened very old DWG files (coming from R2.x/9/10/11/12) without without problem !?

Are you sure this problem does not exist if you open other non- 2000 version files?

Use RECOVER command inside LT to open those file: if the files contain XREFs use RECOVERALL command. Obviously remember to SAVE after the file is opened.

Hi Pendean & Braudpat

thank you for your help!

We tried to open this old-files with File -> Administrative Tools - Recover. Et voila... it runs!

Strange, that AutoCAD doesn't try to open this oldfiles with the recoverymode first.

Thanks again and kind regards
