Annotation Scale Button - Where is it?

The help says this:
"The drawing status bar displays several tools for scaling annotations." It then shows a diagram with the following buttons: Annotation Scale, Annotation Visibility, and Automatically add scale".

I cannot get the Annotation Scale button to display anywhere.
When I select a viewport I do get the Viewport Scale button but no Annotation Scale button, and it's not listed as an option when I select the Application Status bar menu.

What am I missing?

Thanks,

mg

Right click the taskbar and make sure it is
checked.  See Screenshot.

Hi nvanlaar,,
Thanks for the reply.
I've right-clicked every bar I can find but that option is not showing up.
Which bar of the many on screen bars are you calling "taskbar"? I've got several bars at the top and several bars at the bottom and am unable to sort them out. It's amusing that out of all the multitudinous cursor pop-ups not one will identify which "bar" you're cursor is hovering over.

Thanks,

mg

Thanks Kate,
Please see the attachment for my options in the pop-up box.
As you can see there is no "Annotation Scale" option.
So back to my original question...Where is it?

Thanks,

mg

It appears you are in LT2007 or lower... . No Annotative features there.

are you in model space? I get different options for paper and model space in that menu.

Ok,
Dean: The bar at the very top of the screen says: AutoCad LT 2009. So it's not LT'07.

Osborn320: You solved it! Thank-you.

It would be helpful if someone wrote an updated video tutorial showing how to use the "Annotation" features of LT. The one posted by Ms. Hewitt doesn't match LT 09, and the help file is too disjointed as far as enabling one to see how it all is supposed to come together.

Just ideas, and again thanks for the kind assistance.

I'm working on it. 🙂

Although the annnotation features are the same for AutoCAD & LT, so you
should be able to use Heidi's videos.

2 years later, i have the same problem, but i don't see any posted solution.  I have recently installed LT 2010 and I am having the same problem with the status bar.  According to help screen, it should show up right next to the viewport scale, when the viewport is selected.  It does not.  I have clicked the drop-down list, and rt-clicked over the status bar, but everything is checked to be visible and there is no option for annotation scale.  The only way for me to check the annotation scale is to rt-click on the viewport, then expand the properties to see it.

Have you searched your system variables?

If by some odd chance my nattering was useful -- that's great, glad to help. But if it actually solved your issue, then please mark my solution as accepted 🙂

Windows version? Was there an issue during the install?
Is your Drawing Status Bar actually on? I don't see a screenshot posted.

There is no solution to this. You are not missing anything. The info in the Help file is wrong.

I happen to be using  LT 2010 too. In PAPER SPACE you have no ANNOTATION SCALE button at all. Why would you want to have the possibility to see the annotation scale of a viewport at all times?  Normally the layout viewport scale displayed by the VIEWPORT SCALE button is identical with the viewport's annotation scale, because the program ties the annotation scale to the viewport scale. Whenever the viewports scale is changed with the VIEWPORT SCALE button the annotation scale is set to the same value.

There is only one possibility for the annotation scale of a layout viewport to change to 1:1 beyond the user's control, which I happen to know of, but you can immediately find out because your annotation objects disappear when this happens. I am talking about a situation when you set up a named Layout View, and then try to restore that Layout View when you are in Model Space of a Viewport, the program will automatically switch to Paper Space and restore the requested view and change the annotation scale of the viewport to 1:1 (even if the viewport is locked !). If you utilise heavily named Layout Views in the manner described above then you may have a good reason to have the viewport annotation scale displayed at all times.
