Acad LT2004 and Acad 14

I have both versions installed, Rel 14 works perfectly, but when I use Acad LT2004, the center button on th mouse does not bring down any menus. Am I doing something wrong or was it it installed wrong? The mouse works perfectly with every other software but I like the plotter line printing options in LT better.

Middle and right click button behaviour has changed asnd become a lot
more sophisticated than old R14!. The middle button lets you pan around
if your mouse driver is set up so that the button is configured to
"middle button" - you don't have to use the old "pan" command. AutoCAD
need to have the variable MBUTTONPAN set to 1 as well. The scroll wheel
zooms in an out - zoom and panning are transparent - they can be used in
the middle of another command. Some Osnaps are commonly left on
permanently (e.g. end, cen) - a feature called "Autosnap" - see the
SNAP icon at the bottom of the graphics area and right-click over it.
"One-shot" snaps can be set with Shift-right click.

Since I am running both on Win XP Pro, can both the Acad14 and LT2004 have the mouse configured separately or will the mouse config be the same for both? I'd really prefer not having to update both Acad and LT.

You are comparing apples and oranges. They are for the most part two
different generations, you might as well consider them two different
programs too.

Two different programs... .

Setting the centre button to "middle button" is a function of the mouse
driver so applies to all programs although AutoCAD is one of the few to
recognise buttons 1, 2 and 3. The "middle button" is acually the switch
that works when you push the roller wheel down. What the button actually
DOES inside AutoCAD is controlled by the "mbuttonpan" variable (usually
set to 1 as it saves using the PAN command) and is separate for each
version of AutoCAD installed.
