scale does not change if it's truly locked: post a sample.

Dear Dean,
Thanks for your reply
I have attached file containing 2 viewports(pan & section) of scale 1:20 & it is locked. Just try it by moving the viewport frame to same line using osnap so that plan & section will be in same line & notice that 1 or both the viewport scale is has been changed after moving

Thanks & Regards,

Viewports can be moved OK for me without changing scale or becoming
unlocked. I used the MOVE command.

MOVE command does not alter the scale of the content in the viewport here
either: as a test, INSERT this file into a trouble-free template drawing and
re-create the layout from scratch, then the viewports, and try again.

And when you post back, include your LT version.

Try reinstalling or doing a Repair Install of AutoCAD.

I am having a similar problem with viewport locking, using AutoCAD LT 2008.

Basically the locking function doesn't "stick." Using properties, I set the scale and set display lock to Yes. If I double click the viewport to work in model space, zoom, pan, make changes, etc, then change back to paper space, the scale has changed, ever so slightly. When I go to properties, it is not at the scale I set, but now lists the scale as custom, with the display locked. In fact, I have to unlock the display in order to set the scale back.

You should not be able to zoom or pan within a locked viewport.

We are having a similar problem with AutoCAD LT 2008 in our office. When I use AutoCAD 2008 (full version) there are not problems, but once we open a file in LT and work through the viewport the scale changes to custom. The scary part is that it only slightly changes, it's almost unnoticeable.
