named layer filter

Hello all,
I use my "named layer filter" sparingly, but receive drawings with at
least 20-30 odd named layer filters which I don't need. Is there a quick
way to remove all "named layers", except those created automatically by
my LT and subsequently by myself?. The information must be stored in a
file within the LT program. If so, can I delete the unwanted "named
layers".

Also. Using the "named layer filters", I invert the Xref'd layers and
therefore only see the used layers of my drawings if I open the Layer
Manager. However, if I want to see the layer names via the the pull down
tab above my drawing I still have to trawl through 280 layer names. Is
it not possible to see the same as if opening the Layer Manager?

In LT, you do it one at a time, manually. Part of the savings that is LT
over full AutoCAD.

No, the pulldown does not behave like the Layer pop-up.
