hatch command crashes autocad lt2012

I can open the hatch dialog box, and select "add: pick points".  However, when I pick in the drawing, autocad crashes.  Every time, no exceptions.  I have SP1 installed.

I cannot use the hatch command at all.

Post a drawing file this happens in.

It happens in drawing files, and also when no file is open.  The strange thing about this, that the button beneath, "Add: Select Objects" works fine.  The "Add: Pick Points" is the one that crashes the program.  And it happens as soon as you pick it.

Windows version?

Is LT2012 fully updated and patched?

Do you use the Ribbon? Is yes, do you skip the pop-up or activate it too?

Did this problem just start, or is Lt2012 a new install? Or did you get a new PC to boot?

Windows 7 on a new PC.

I don't use the ribbon, i assume.  I don't know what the popup you refer to is.  The other commands on the dialog box work, it's just the Add: Pick Points that crashes.  I'm using the classic environment.

This is a new install, and the first time i've used the hatch command.

Turn off Win7's Aero theme, use the Windows Classic theme instead.

Is your video card driver current/up to date from the manufacturer or your PC's website?

Turn off any minimized or open palettes.

Turn off HPQUICKPREVIEW variable.

It's the HPQUICKPREVIEW.  When set to off, the add button works.  Aero on is ok.

thanks

I just found this as a soulution to my hatching issue in AutoCAD 2013 on Windows 7 Pro.

It's a good little tool until it starts to crash my drawings.

Thank you for the post.
