Wide screen monitors

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254043&nm_mc=OTC-17exta6&cm_mmc=OTC-17exta6-_-Monitors+-+LCD+Flat+Panel-_-Hanns-G-_-24254043 is the address to a monitor that I am considering to replace two small monitors that I now use.
I would detail and view design criteria from one large display rather than one. Is this a good idea or not.

Thanks

Dennis

Unless each of your two smaller old monitors each ran at only 960x600 or
lower (that's lower resolution that what is considered the absolute minimum
for a computer display of 1024x768), All you will get with this one is
probably a 3/4 of the display of two oldd screens, but a lot bigger letters
and icons.

And you need to be sitting about 4feet away from this display for best
effect: I take it you've not done any actual physical testing at a store or
anything similar yet? Try a TV store, ask a salesman to run graphics and
test on a high end 1080p tv and see for yourself.

I use both a 30" and 19" LCD monitor. Both are connected via DVI and I would recommend this. Your graphics card would need to have this capability.
If you have the ability and space for two go that route. Dean is right about needing to be 3+ feet away, and I have been blinded by a Samsung LCD TV/Monitor so the brightness is a factor to consider especially for how far away you can sit. Don't put this on a 24" deep desk. Your eyes will bleed.
CAD is very friendly with two monitors. (Would love to have third myself.)
Or maybe six...
