Unicode display problem

Drawings display ? not unicode symbol (2) for \U+00B2, drawings were created in AutoCAD 2005 and everything displayed and plotted OK, drawings save as 2000 Lt, when opened in 2000 Lt they display ? but in the text editor they display correctly. Can anyone please help. Thank you.

A feature or font not found in LT2000 seat, you
provide no detailed information.

The font being used in the drawing is simplex.shx
