Hi,
I'm having trouble with the formatting of text when I open older versions of a dwg in ACadLt 2010. It seems as if some of the text properties are lost when opened in this version. The obvious one is the FIT or WIDTH parameter of the text.
Is there way to stop this from happening ?
Cheers,
Steve
Indeed, as Dean has suggested, missing fonts can certainly have the effect you've described. Also, two releases prior to the version you're using, there was a fairly major overhaul of the text/mtext portion of AutoCAD LT's coding. The changes include new options for spacing, justification, etc. Also, the concept of automated annotation scaling was introduced. There is a section of the Help which describes working with drawings in earlier releases, and a subsection therein about paragraph and line spacing. In your case, you can look at some of those points and reverse the meaning, since you're opening older drawings in a newer release. You may need to do some reformatting as a result.
If you'd like to upload a sample DWG, please indicate which version created it and also a couple of specific examples of what is different when you open it in AutoCAD LT 2010. Please remove anything of a proprietary nature from any sample drawings you choose.
