An employee here is getting a new computer. He has AutoCAD LT 2000 on his old PC. If I try to install it on the new PC I get "invalid serial number", which is weird because I got the serial number from the application on the old PC (by going to help->about). I'm assuming it means that the maximum number of seats has been reached? In that case, I would like to deactive the license on the old PC and transfer it to the new PC. I have no idea how to do this. I believe AutoCAD LT 2000 predates the PLU. I'm not seeing any kind of license transfer utility. Any ideas? Thanks.
There is no "deactivate" process: did you type in the serial number in the correct box?
Is it looking for an older serial number (LT2000 was an upgrade perhaps)?
Autodesk may have poor records on the 2000 S/N and that could be the issue.
They do not know what you are referencing.
