Simple, quick to use & organized

I'm seeking advice to create and organize blocks for drawing several residential projects. I need a simple path to follow. My idea is to write blocks from the blocks I created on my first drawing.... put them in a Tool Palette (which so far I seem to like for speed use). What is the best way to accomplish this? The Design Center seemed a bit too cluttered for me. Thanks in advance!

Do you plan on sharing these with other users or just you?

The quickest simplist method: have one DWG file that contains all of your blocks. From that file organize and create all the ToolPalettes you want (organize by type, like Elec / plumbing / Millwork / whatever works best for your workflow).

Just ensure that "container" file is centrally located within AutoCAD's search paths (you can add to it in OPTIONS' FILES Tab then the first entry way at the top).

You're done.

PS: backup that container file often for safe keeping.
