Sending dwg drawings to another user

We are currently using autocad 2014 LT - new user

When we create work and need to send to Client (as a dwg file), when they open the file nothing is there?

Q. Can anyone advise what we are doing wrong?

Welcome to the Forums

Use the command ETRANSMIT (you will find it at the FILE menu). This will place every file which is needed to open your drawing into a zip file, which you can then send to the client.

One of the problems with sending drawings is sometimes you might have xref'd a drawing into a layout.

If you just then send the drawing the xref is not sent as it is a separate file and not actually in the main drawing.
