Plotting SG Coordinates in AutoCAD LT

Hi!

We are Town Planners. So we Work with SG Diagrams alot. I need to import co-ordinates that have been provided on a General Plan. I have no idea how to do this. I have read other forums and have tried to do what was written but i just cant seem to get it plotted correctly.

I have attached the erf i want to plot. here is the link csg.dla.gov.za/esio/viewTIFF?furl=/images15/234/10151939.TIF&office=SGPTA (MAp with co-ordinates)

http://csg.dla.gov.za/esio/listdocument.jsp

Please can somebody help me with this. its so frustrating.

Thank you!

I am not sure how to plot the angles given etc.

The document link is bad or has no information.

As for the JPG it looks like you have Distances (40.13) and direction (274 07 10)

In AutoCAD this would be written @40.13<(?)27D7'10"(?) http://www.cadtutor.net/tutorials/autocad/survey-data.php

The problem is your JPG map does not have Cardinal information so where to start? That may be part of the List document.

Where to start is another issue and not one that I know how to answer.

Thanks for the reply.

I have attached the co-ordinates.

Aparently one can get a plug-in that converts, for example WGS co-ordinates to WCS co-ords?

is there something like that and if there is where would one get such a plug-in?

Plug ins typically do not work with AutoCAD LT since they are usually Lisp, Object ARX, or VBA based so there may be no help there.

You may want to try the Civil Forum and ask for help.

Make sure they know you are bounded by LT and cannot use automation; just vanilla CAD Command input.

There are no "plug-ins" for LT, but plenty for full AutoCAD (most are not free either): are you all limited to using LT?

Yes. we only purchased the LT version...
