Paste Clip Problem

Hi,

I've received a drawing from a client and im trying to copy all of the drawing into our templates using the copy with base point command. It has worked every time before with huge files but this time it doesn't work. The file size im trying to copy is only 2095KB.

It copies fine, but wont paste into a drawing.

Any solutions for this problem would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Something in the file is preventing a copy: be more selective and test
smaller areas, or better yet, what's wrong with INSERT command, or WBLOCK
instead?

I don't use insert often because it will turn all of the layers on, when some have been selectively switched off as in this case. I have wblocked the dwg but would like to solve this problem. The client uses architectural cad. We have had a lot of problems with their dwgs. I have been able to copy with base point then paste minor objects in the dwg such as lines etc.

Your client needs to "export to autocad" to send you a 2d file. Or you need
to upgrade to their version. Or in LT2007 or higher, you need to destroy
their 3D file by using AECTOACAD command. OR you need to use the free
viewer/converter to knock file down to 2D and a lower version DWG that you
use:

And INSERT never thaws any layers by itself, only layers you don't have tend
to become visible.
