PAT fILES

How do you install new hatch patterns in LT2006. Where are the pat files?
Thanks, George

Simply copy them to a folder that LT searches (Options command>Files
Tab, first category), then use BHATCH command, Custom option, and
there they will be.

Oh, and each PAT file must contain only one hatch pattern definition,
and the file name must be the hatch pattern name.

this does not work.  I've pasted my custom .pat files (that I've used for years) into every known file folder and they still don't show up.  I don't even have a "CUSTOM" hatch pattern tab on the BHATCH command window.  Any other ideas?

OPTIONS command's FILES tab, top listing for "Support File Search path" are the only folders your session of AutoCAD looks for PAT files. You can either add a folder to this list or use one that is already there. Screenshot #1.

HATCH command's pop-up has a Custom option, see screenshot #2. The Ribbon does not, it list all it can find.

Thank you, I finally figured it out myself.

For FUTURE readers, the trick is to do the following:

Put your PAT files into any folder on your computer (I made a new folder within my documents)

Open Autocad,

CLICK:  Tools
CLICK:  Options

CLICK:  the FILES tab

CLICK:  on the "-" sign beside the first category called "Support File Search Path" to show all the files inside that folder.

CLICK:  (on the right side) "ADD"

CLICK:  BROWSE (go find the folder you made that has all your PAT files in it).

CLICK:  OK

I then found my custom hatch paterns under the locations as shown in the screen shots that were posted above.

HOPE THIS HELPS!  Thanks again for all the help!

BY THE WAY,

I learned this bit of the puzzle by googling it on YouTube! It was about the third video down in the list and didn't have any sound, but if you read the comments that flash up, it was quite easy.  (I'm not a computer guru, but only had to watch the video twice.

I guess those screen shots would have worked if they had been animated.

Dean you need to step up the response a bit...
