Installation ended prematurely because of an error

I am trying to install a copy of AutocadLT 2000i on a newly built Win 2000 sp2 machine.
I put in all the serial number and cd key and get the bar graph which gets 0.75 the way accros and then show a dialog box titled fatal error with the text "Installation ended prematurely because of an error"
I am logged in as administrator, I have tried safe mode, I have tried removing HP printers. I have checked rights to the program files directory.
Any ideas??

Hi,

try copying the whole CD to the harddisk and run
Setup from there. This has sometimes helped me.
